Top 10 Guide – Best Honeymoon Destinations

1. Cayo Espanto: Belize

An absolutely jaw dropping gorgeous, romantic, crystal-clear-bright-blue-see-through water hotel, on a Private Island in Belize. We were the first folks married on this first BEST HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS hot spot (besides the owner), 13 years ago. This place is like that Fantasy Island Show (this dates me). You never want to leave! The island team greets you, all lined up in their blue shirts, with your special drinks in their hands, as you glide right in by boat taxi right up to the dock.

We enjoyed Casa Aurora’s private pool at the waters edge, massages, spa treatments, and gourmet food cooked to our liking every day and night. You provide the chef a long preferences list before arrival. Each Casa is equipped with it’s very own private discreet wait staff person (who also walked me down the dock for my wedding ceremony). We booked private day excursions with lunch and rum punch to (an even more remote island) for shell collecting and snorkeling and….”………”…..you can fill in that pause however you like. On another magical day, we boated right over to Ambergris Caye, rented a golf cart, toured the island, had lunch, mucho drinko, and boated back to Cayo Espanto. Cayo Espanto, is truly a lovely place, and one of the BEST HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS on the planet. I wanted a STAYCATION. Take the vacation! Hire Kay Scott Photography for any professional photography you might need. You will find the website to Cayo Espanto just click here.

Best Honeymoon Destinations 22. Auberge du Soleil: Napa California

This place is a slice of Honeymoon Heaven. The food is amazing. The wine is amazing. The hotel is amazing. The view is amazing. Adventure if you choose, or go to the spa and bliss your day away with pampering and potions. The local cuisine will delight and entice you. Auberge du Soleil is a peaceful, extravagant, artful Relais and Châteaux hotel. This property, with you in it, will send you to the moon. Stayed in a beautiful suite on my birthday with a hot tub, exquisite views of the valley, full bar, espresso machine, and the refrigerator stocked for……hydration. The ginormous bath and candles were a delightful touch. Definitely expensive, luxurious, and over the top. I was wonderfully surprised for a fabulous decadent long weekend! The restaurant dining was ten times better than our intermittent room service deliveries. Appetizers via room service proved a better option. You will find the hotel link, two adventure links, restaurant ideas and olive tree spa pictures at Auberge du Soleil Napa, just click here.

Best Honeymoon Destinations 33. Cap Juluca: Anguilla

Cap Juluca is an exclusive pristine Caribbean Island Honeymoon Dream, fit for Kings and Queens. I love warm blue waters, comfy lounge chairs, and soft white sand. Most of my trip to Anguilla was spent in very little clothing, on a very nice private boat charter with captain Elvis, viewing very sparkly brightly colored fish, danced very very late at Gwen’s Rasta Reggae bar, and drank very very good rum punch and various other libations. I do remember the verrry, verrry, good time had by all. I do remember the very beautiful food, and the incredible views. Loved the Greco-Moorish white architecture with crisp blue interiors as I sauntered out to my verry comfy sunning chair. Yep, the beach guy in my mind just brought more rum punch, AND that icy wet towel of sun hot honeymoon love. I think I will be married every year. Visit Cap Juluca’s website by clicking here.

Best Honeymoon Destinations 44. Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc: Cap d’Antibes France

Gracing the southern tip of the Cap d’Antibes, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc belongs to those iconic establishments where time seems to stand still amidst the rustle of the Alep pines, behind which it is hidden. I have been to this fantastic French Hotel du Cap Eden Roc Hotel, twice. Once with a dear friend, and again, not too long ago, while on a trip to Europe with my daughter when she turned 21. I was not enjoying the perfect honeymoon, yet I was celebrating every minute with my daughter at this regal hotel sanctuary. Join the likes of Picasso, Chagall, and our beloved movie stars, at this elegant, romantic, elite, discreet, five star hotel. The seven year renovation will complete in 2014. The infinity pool still pouring towards the Mediterranean sea, will take your breath away. Take a trip back in time, at the waters edge, sipping your perfectly luscious peach Bellini while you watch the hours fly by…the elite of the elite are here popping off their yachts for a day of pampering. People watch till your eyes are full. The gastronomic delicacies will transport your senses to the infinite degree. You will not regret one second gracing yourselves with this magnificent hotel finery. Glide into paradise at Hotel du Cap Eden Roc by clicking here.

5. Post Ranch Inn: Big Sur California

Post Ranch Inn – does a honeymoon something WONDERFUL. The inspiring landscape, along with rich history of the Post family pioneers – with its cliffs, mountains, and panoramic ocean views have created an architectural masterpiece on the California coast. The 100-acre Post Ranch has evolved from a homestead and working ranch to one of the most acclaimed luxury resorts in the world. This tranquil, luxurious, oceanfront property has grown up over the years. Gift yourselves a room with a hot tub (I did), or a tree house overlooking the Pacific ocean. Glide right into the panoramic Sierra Mar restaurant (in the sky) for sumptuous unforgettable gourmet sunsets, or reward yourselves after the wedding extravaganza with spa treats and treasures. Float your tired dancing muscles in the hot infinity cliff side pool, or seal the deal with a shot of Jack Daniels like the Post Pioneers did. At the Post Ranch Inn, your partner will thank you – tenfold. Click here to round up the Post Ranch Inn website.

Best Honeymoon Destinations 66. Luna Hotel Baglioni: Venice Italy

A perfect Honeymoon Palace. Luna Hotel Baglioni, still afloat in Venice Italy, will remain on my top ten “Best Honeymoon Destinations” list forever. I was engaged here in 2000. I told my partner if I was ever to be married again….I would have to have the “entire white horse romantic-ever-after treatment,” and would accept nothing less. And so, that white horse gig came to happen, one misty steamy night, the night the lights went out over the entire darn Venetian City. In the dark, the amazing resourceful partner of mine, found a Guy and a Gondola, some Cristal Champagne, Caviar, Parmesan Cheese, and a Dynamite Ring. It was very very dark. Kind of exciting dark. I was led to the gondola by flashlight and wrapped in blankets. We were off, transported and swooshing through the pitch dark of night, in Venice, on a gondola, listening to quiet background of love music on that distant Italian accordion (he did not plan the music part). SO VERRY romantic. Kind of like out of a movie, ROMANTIC. We stopped under the Rialto Bridge. He opened the champagne, and yep, the man got down and did the one knee thing! I said, “YES.” The chocolate covered strawberries and more champagne was waiting in the dark suite upon our return. Luna Hotel Baglioni Venice will gladly assist with “celebrations of love” – just click here.

Best Honeymoon Destinations 77. la Torre del Visco: Fuentespalda Spain

A driving adventure up through the grapes and groves of olive trees as far as the sight can see. We were here during harvest season amongst the fall colors with ripe purple grape clusters piled high on red pickup trucks. This Hidden Spanish Gem, that the owners Piers and Jemma created, at la Torre del Visco, fits perfectly here amongst my favorite best honeymoon destinations. “La Torre del Visco is one of Spain’s most remote and romantic Relais & Chateaux boutique hotels, set at the end of a forest in the beautiful Tastavins river valley bordered by the Puertos of Beceite mountain range, an undiscovered and unspoilt corner of Aragon. No traffic, wonderful air, silence, spectacular sunsets and no other lights at night, just star filled skies.” The name “la Torre del Visco means mistletoe” in the local dialect. Kiss away, enjoy, and play at this wonderful Spanish hideaway…..click here for la Torre del Visco’s website.
