Urban Backpacker’s Mini Guide to Paris France
Favorite hotels, restaurants, museums, shopping, gardens, beautiful fountains and more. ENJOY!
Hotel Bel-Ami a delightful example of hip modern “cool factor” laced with upscale hospitality w/ten stars of Parisian charm. Yes, the French can be warm and inviting. Yes, they speak English very well here and don’t snub you for asking. Great restaurant. Concierge extremely helpful. Walk, taxi or subway three blocks away. Below is my favorite “where to stay” list and personal favorite list of “things to do in Paris France!”
If Airbnb or VRBO or Hotel Bel Ami not to your liking – Haven in Paris.
At La Societe Restaurant down the street from Bel-Ami scores amazing food – dress for this place in evening. It’s kind of a secret sexy location right by church 1.5 blocks away from hotel.
Café Flore Sit and people watch and listen to accordion or some sumptuous street act. Don’t eat just drink or snack. Vino not so hot.
At Ralph’s for lunch or dinner in a beautiful garden setting make reservations (definitely ask for outdoor patio table if weather nice).
Photo tour with guide Hermoine at Better Paris Photos! She is fantastic and has plethora of info! All photographers know their stuff here.
Amazing Louvre tour with Paris Muse. No lines. Loved it!
Super cool hip design, science and art free museum. Walk from hotel.
EXPERIENCE The Grand Palais. Great for kids! SO many things to see at this museum!
Pack a picnic, take the subway. Wander and gaze. Sacre Coeur
Ile St. Louis. A special area with narrow cobblestone streets on an island with darling shops and restaurants.
Eiffel Tower tickets three days in advance.
Best MACARONS in your life at Laduree. Two blocks from hotel and best small gift to take home to friends and family.
